luxurious Mexican silver rope tasselled Lariat Necklace

$0.00
SOLD

Luxuriously long, its thick sterling twist-rope ending in two of the richest, most exuberant tassels I have seen lately, this vintage Mexican lariat necklace comes with its custom clip so you can easily vary the way it looks when you have it on. I am a big fan of lariat necklaces and the Mexican maestros created some really exciting examples so I always keep a... Good Eye out for them. The one at hand, my first (and, possibly, best) for the new year, speaks of a long life well-lived with its glowing patina and the slick playfulness of its shimmering skirt...

Size / Weight: 42 1/2" long end-to-end; rope part is 36 1/4" with each tassel adding a 3 1/8" drop; 159.3 grams

Hallmarks / Date: "MEXICO" alongside a badly stamped Eagle assay mark as shown; 1950s-60s

Condition: excellent vintage with generous length and weight, great patina and gorgeous tassels, with no damage and no repairs noted except for a tiny, ever so light impression on the side of one tassel ball that hardly even registers to the naked eye
