Margot de Taxco Mexican silver horse Pin Brooch

$0.00
SOLD

Margot's equine-themed parure is, of course, one of her most popular designs. Who doesn't love horses anyway? And in this brooch, there are three of them, familiarly presented in profile, their proud heads slightly cocked, their manes carefully braided. I would call this a glorified bar pin almost - you can easily wear it right over the uppermost button of a silk shirt but it is big enough for a sweater or a jacket even...

Size / Weight 2 1/4" long by 1 1/8" tall; 11.8 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker's signature as shown as well as "STERLING MADE IN MEXICO", a badly stamped Eagle 16 assay mark and des. no 5160; 1950s-60s

Condition: excellent vintage with a tactile, beguiling sculpturality, crisp and impeccably crafted as all Margot jewelry is, with warmly glowing patina and no damage or repairs noted
