Mexican Deco Egyptian Revival silver dangle Earrings

Distinctly Egyptian Revival in its inspiration, the set of Mexican Deco dangle earrings at hand reminds me very much of elements in Margot de Taxco's "Cleopatra" parure; more specifically, the feathers of the "vulture crown" the pharaoh is wearing. More stylized in our case they are here involved in an elaborate knot forming sculptural dangles that hang off the sweetest repousse rosettes. I admit that I have never encountered this specific design before and would also like to draw your attention to the textured finish in the surfaces between the raised lines - what a clever way to add more depth and drama to it...

Size / Weight: 2 1/8" long by 1 3/8" wide; 15.0 grams (for the set)

Hallmarks / Date: maker's initials "A.V.B" as well as "925", "STERLING" and on the screw- back "SILVER MEXICO"; pre-1948

Condition: very good vintage with sweeping curves and a strong sense of motion in the design, impressive in size, beautifully finished, with great patina and no unsightly damage or repairs noted; I would like to mention a very shallow impression in one of the dangles which is not offensive, however, and does not really attract attention when you have the set on
