Mexican Deco silver amethyst Aztec Sun Cuff Bracelet

$0.00
SOLD

A glorious emulation of Spratling's "Aztec Sun" design, the early Mexican Deco silver and amethyst cuff at hand combines repoussage and overlay with cleverly applied oxidation that adds more depth and drama to an already stunning bracelet. This is a generously proportioned piece so if you always craved a cuff like it but couldn't find one to fit, don't miss this opportunity. If its rich purple stones, the deeply chased repousse and appliques and those daring slender silver rays bursting out of the sun's core into the universe beyond don't make for a major statement bracelet, I don't know what does...

Size / Weight: 7 3/4" in inner diameter (including the 2" gap; not adjustable due to the nature of the silver-work that is not amenable to this type of treatment unless it's done by a qualified jeweler); width between 2 1/2" at center front and 1 1/16" at either end; 68.6 grams

Hallmarks / Date: simply marked "SILVER MEXICO"; pre-1948

Condition: very good vintage with stupendous presence, gorgeous stones, its oxidation in pretty good shape and very nice patina as well; a previous owner had tried to adjust the cuff by themselves thus causing a couple of creases in the silver on the inner surface but I have had my jeweler gently "treat" those wounds and the bracelet is now fully functional with its integrity restored, ready to be worn, enjoyed and proudly displayed once again
