Mexican Deco silver and faux turquoise Bangle Bracelet

$0.00
SOLD

It is not unusual for Mexican silver jewelry from the early Deco period to feature faux turquoise instead of the natural stone - I have had a few pieces over the years including necklaces, bracelets and even a sterling belt. The elegant bangle I am presenting here is a little later than that, however, as it was made in the 1950s-60s most probably. What I love here is the form - of course!- and the very interesting color of the plastic cabs (acrylic, maybe, or opaque lucite?) which feel silky soft under the fingertips…

Size / Weight: just shy of 8” inner circumference or 2 1/2” inner diameter; 1/4” wide; 14.5 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s initials as shown as well as “STERLING 925 MEXICO” and Eagle 111 assay mark; 1950s-70s

Condition: excellent vintage with beautifully colored cabs, nice beading all around and warm patina, with no damage and no repairs noted
