Mexican Deco silver semi-spheres multi-row Bracelet with turquoise

$0.00
SOLD

I admit it - I have a soft spot for turquoise; always did! Maybe it’s my endless hours of swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean when I was a child; maybe it’s the blues of the summer sky that dominate Greece almost year-round; maybe it’s the magical way the stone changes its hue with time and the human touch. So I find myself seeking it out set in vintage Mexican jewelry and I am delighted to present one of those difficult to find, Deco hinged bangles with rows of silver repousse semi-spheres overlaid with bezel-set turquoise cabs. The stones have green undertones here, the raised sterling surfaces glisten, the design’s recesses are shadowy, dark with the patina of decades. Signed by a Mexico City maestro who excelled in this type of bracelets, this is a treasure you shouldn’t miss…

Size / Weight: 7” inner circumference (clasped) by 3/4” wide; 31.8 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker’s initials “BGM” as shown as well as “HECHO EN MEXICO D.F. 0925”; pre-1948

Condition: excellent vintage with beautiful, soothing color in the stones, fantastic patina and no damage or repairs noted except for a small impression in one of the semi-spheres; not offensive to the eye, it adds character more than takes away from the bracelet’s beauty
