Mexican silver modernist zodiac Ring ~ Aquarius

$145.00

I love zodiac jewelry and thankfully so did the old Mexican maestros! Yet over the years I have noticed that no matter what their form (rings, brooches or bracelets), they are being snatched up with increasing fervor. So saying that they are becoming more difficult to find would not be an overstatement, especially for rings which are an already challenging area of collecting in the vintage Mexican jewelry world. It is therefore understandable that I am thrilled to have come upon this mid-century example for January / February babies - a beautiful sterling silver Aquarius set against an oxidized background in a fiercely geometric, square frame...

Size / Weight: sz 6 US (easily resizable by your jeweler); face is 5/8" square; 11.5 grams

Hallmarks / Date: maker's initials "MN" as well as "925", "MEXICO TAXCO" and Eagle 3 assay mark; 1950s-60s

Condition: excellent vintage with its oxidation in good shape, nice patina and easy-to-read figural representation and no damage or repairs noted
