Portuguese Deco silver repousse Bracelet ~ harvest fruits and flowers

$0.00
SOLD

I love Portuguese silver hinged bangle bracelets - the variety of designs, the beguiling fleshiness of their repoussage and the possibility of stacking them for a Bohemian look fascinates me. Presented here is a narrow version of the "harvest fruits and flowers" motif and it looks stunning! The oxidation enhances the rounded bodies of corn, grapes, apples and pears while there is a touch of Art Nouveau elegance in the florals next to the hinge and clasp. The bangle has been mistakenly stamped by its maker "Rosas de Portugal", the name of a different, very popular design, yet who cares?

PS: The wider, geometric bracelet you see in one of the photos is also Portuguese and available on the site

SIZE / WEIGHT: 7" inner circumference (clasped); longer inner diameter (the bangle is oval in shape) 2 1/4"; 1/2” wide; 19.5 grams

HALLMARKS / DATE: though hallmarked for metal purity and possibly place of manufacture, the marks are not readable but I guarantee the bangle to be solid silver of at least .830 quality, even though it might be sterling; 1930s-50s

CONDITION: excellent vintage with beautiful repoussage, a very rich, crisp in detail design, with amazing patina and no damage or repairs noted
