rare Perfeitos Portugal 833 silver "zodiac" hinged Bangle Bracelet

$0.00
SOLD

Vintage repousse hinged bangle bracelets from Portugal are a weakness of mine! I am constantly on the look out for the best examples and I never tire of them thanks to the variety in their designs which go from floral and fruit motifs to historical landmarks, armorial pieces and bracelets with striking architectural decoration. Yet to find an astrological version is very very rare - and a first for me. Signed “Perfeitos” which I will assume is the maker’s name, the bracelet features the twelve signs of the zodiac, crisp and full of detail, deploying all around the wrist. Exquisite quality (which makes me think it is an earlier example) with attention to detail and even a tiny little rose to function as the push-button on the clasp’s tab. What more is there to say?

Size / Weight: 7 1/4” inner circumference (clasped) or 2 7/8” inner diameter by 7/8” wide; 40.2 grams

Hallmarks / Date: “PERFEITOS” as shown with additional hallmarks, one of them, if I read it correctly, defines the bracelet’s purity (833) and its place of manufacture (Porto); late 1930s-1950s

Condition: excellent vintage with beautiful figural decoration, crisp and easily readable to the eye designs, having fantastic patina and no damage or repairs noted
