An Art Deco Victorian Revival silver bracelet with figural etched and applied decoration, this hinged bangle features two birds frolicking among the branches of what looks like exotic trees. Very much in the style of similar Aesthetic period jewelry the applique birds are here made of what I believe is rose and yellow gold or gold-plated silver. It is very difficult to test yet since the sheet out of which they have been cut seems to be very thin, I believe it's not unreasonable to suggest they are solid. Be that as it may, let me just add that I love the sense of peace and inner calm the scene sends out and the ever-charming motif of the love-birds...

Size / Weight: 6 1/4" inner circumference (clasped; perfect for smaller to medium wrists) by 3/4" wide; 29.8 grams

Hallmarks / Date: not signed for maker nor hallmarked for metal quality yet tested and guaranteed to be solid silver, most probably sterling; for the rose and yellow bird appliques, please see description above; 1930s-40s

Condition: very good vintage with beautiful decoration, nice patina and no unsightly damage or repairs noted except for two very very shallow impressions that are not even detectable with a naked eye (one is on the back of the bracelet, the other right next to the hinge, on the side of the rose gold bird)
